On the island of Palawan, deep in a preserved mountain valley, the Taw Batu live as they have for millennia. This small troglodyte community of barely 250 people inhabits hard-to-reach caves carved into the limestone cliffs, far from roads, cities and modern life.
After two years of exile, Tulibak returns home with his wife and four children. He is the first Taw Batu to have left for the city — and the first to come back. His return raises silent but profound questions within this tightly knit society: will he be accepted again, or has the outside world changed him too deeply? Can his children adapt to a way of life shaped by isolation, tradition and collective rules?
Filmed over several months, this documentary follows an intimate family journey at the crossroads of two worlds. It explores belonging, return, and the fragile balance between ancestral traditions and personal transformation, offering a rare immersion into a society where leaving is already a rupture — and coming back, an even greater one.
