When Pontiac brought out the Aztek, they made a series of commercials showing what it can do. This may seem obvious, but so many cars are marketed without ever mentioning what the vehicle can do for you.
The Aztek was an early crossover (CUV) and as such there were a few things to show. This was a vehicle that you could drive every day like a car and still do some more exotic things.
There was a problem though in that the vehicle wasn't exactly good-looking. Instead of its versatility, the Aztek's funny looks became its defining characteristic and sales were lackluster.
This ad shows off the AWD (part-time softroad type), the rear hatch with sliding tray for your snowboards and the built-in ice chest.
This spot aired on CBS during the showing of the 6th episode of Survivor Outback on Thursday March 1st, 2001.
