The purpose of this lesson is for students to understand the division staff’s role in deployment process. The division staff plays a central role in planning and pre-deployment activities.
This lesson builds on earlier lessons on the nature of war and will provide students with an understanding of how the Army fights, or more specifically, how it gets to the fight at the division level. This lesson also serves as a foundation for the module capstone practical exercise. Students should be familiar with the strategic and operational organizations that have a role in force projection operations from the core lessons C302, Joint Functions, S130, Joint Logistics and Army Sustainment Support to Multidomain Operations, S140, Sustainment for Tactical Forces in Multidomain Operations, and S150, Joint Logistics Planning.
