I should not have said the authors did not disclose statistical software. They did disclose which software they used. Not sure how I missed that when I read the paper, but it is in fact there. I stand by the rest of my arguments though. My characterization of the adjustment as stratification with MH equations was inaccurate and I should have described the BMI and calcium adjustments as categorizations. The same arguments still stand against them of course. Their adjustment methods I cant agree with that approach even slightly and theres an enormous literature against categorization of this sort. Its not worth debating either given how well known this is.
