The "King" of Daein is up next! Pelleas is one of the faster mages in the series which gives him a decent amount of opportunities to out-speed and one-shot his opponent before they can go. The problem with this however is that he is stuck with the least accurate SS tome in the game, Balberith. However, he doesn't have it as bad as his "mentor," Izuka, since he also has access to Rexbolt, which just so happens increases his Flare chance (albeit a very miniscule amount). This gives him a better chance to hit his opponent, at a cost of less Mt which means that any unit with at least 70 HP will survive a Flare proc against him every time unless they are weak to it. Getting to his defense, there isn't much of note, he has a terrible 56 HP and a below average Def stat of 35. This makes him the perfect food for anyone with a Brave weapon. His saving grace in this regard, is that he does have Miracle to lean on which will save him in certain situations. But at only a 41% chance, he can't rely on it as much as units like Micaiah or Mist who use it in just about every fight. The one thing that he would have over them is that he is quite speedy as mentioned before meaning that there will be less attacks against and as a result, less Miracle procs needed. But in comparison to Micaiah for example, he doesn't have the damage to keep up with his 57 Mag. He often times needs to proc Flare twice in order to win against his opponent.

The unit with the higher base speed will initiate first. (If unit has Shade or Stillness they will always choose who goes first). If both units have the same speed, the unit whose video it is will go first.
For weapons, the unit who is faster chooses the weapon they want the unit they are attacking gets to choose a weapon to counter them with. The unit who attacks first, goes through all the possible weapon combinations and picks whatever situation would give them the best chance at victory. After the initial turn, the only time a unit can change their weapon is on their turn.
