Chrom is quite a strong unit in this series because of how inflated the growth rates are in Awakening and also because he's one of the few units that actually get a mastery skill (Aether) from his build in Awakening. He was so good that I didn't give him anything from Robin's Ring in Engage because his build was already set (similar to what I did with Marth). His weapon access is also quite strong, giving him the great defensive options from the SS swords, which have the SS boost for him, and the great offensive 1-2 range option from Lances in the Wishblade. But perhaps the most important thing for him is the fact that he has a mastery skill at his disposal, something most other non-RD units in this series won't have. And because of his skill Rightful King, his proc rate is increased by 10%. His stats, as mentioned before, are incredibly good, with 60 in all of the offensive stats that you need to be effective. And he also has a little bit of a boost to his hit and evasion as a little cherry on top from Charm. He also has Renewal, but it doesn't really come into play that often because of how oppressive his offense is. He will often initiate first because of his high Lck, and with his high Str and Skl, his Aether will proc often for big damage, and if he doesn't proc Aether, he also brawls really well without it because of his high Str and Spd. There's honestly not too much to there that counters him, but a stray mastery skill or a high damaging unit would do the trick.
