What's up Geekly Goods fam! 🤯 Ticket presales for Avengers: Doomsday are reportedly running approximately 65% ahead of the pace set by Spider-Man: Brand New Day's first two days of sales, and that is genuinely huge.
That's an enormous number considering Brand New Day is currently breaking box office record after box office record, having just crossed $2 billion worldwide as only the eighth movie in history to hit that mark. It's worth noting Doomsday's presales opened a full four months ahead of release, compared to Brand New Day's 45-day window, so some of that pace advantage comes from starting earlier. Still, with Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans both returning to the franchise, fan excitement is clearly translating into real numbers.
If I were Warner Bros., I'd seriously be considering moving Dune: Part Three off that December 18th date, since both films are set to open on the exact same weekend and could end up splitting the same audience in a big way.
