What's up Geekly Goods fam! 🤯 We've got three exciting new details about Shrek 5, straight from an exclusive interview director Conrad Vernon gave to SYFY Wire.
Number one, voice recording has now officially wrapped for the entire film, featuring Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, and Cameron Diaz all reprising their iconic roles. Number two, even though we already know Zendaya, Marcello Hernández, and Skyler Gisondo have joined the cast, Vernon confirmed there are still plenty of unannounced voice actors yet to be revealed. And number three, Vernon gave real reassurance about tone, confirming the film will keep that same "edgy humor mixed with the heart" that made the original films connect with both kids and parents alike. He even joked about how kids don't need every joke explained to them, saying half the fun is them asking questions later.
After that first trailer, I genuinely cannot wait for Shrek 5. This franchise has made over $4 billion at the box office, and it sounds like Vernon and the team are fully committed to honoring what made these movies so special in the first place. Shrek 5 arrives in theaters December 23rd, 2026.
