Ok guys so today was the day of the Avatar panel at comic con and we got some absolutely massive news coming out of it. #avatarthelastairbender #thelegendofkorra #avatarstudios
So pretty much right at the start of the panel, we had a video call in from Janet Varney, the voice of Avatar Korra. In her hand was the Rise of Kyoshi book, which itself is a tease to something… but the main thing she was there to announce was the next upcoming movie in the Avatar Universe.
We now know that it will follow a slightly older Avatar Aang, and the rest of Team Avatar, including Zuko, Toph, Sokka, Katara and probably some of the other side characters from the series.
So let me know in the comments if you’re hyped for this, or if you wanted to see a new story completely separate from the main two animated shows…
After that we also learned that the previously leaked movies for the next 5 years are more or less still looking good. If they pan out, in 2024 we’ll be getting a Kyoshi movie, followed by an older Zuko movie in 2025 and then a Korra Movie in 2026. Unfortunately we still have no details on any of these, so they could either be live action or animated, but it’s simply too early to tell just yet.
