So we finally have some casting news on who will be playing the character of Ty Lee in the Netflix live action avatar series, and it’s pretty unexpected considering she doesn’t show up in the first season of the show! So the person who will be playing Ty Lee throughout the series is Momona Tamada, who has had roles in The Boys on Amazon Prime, To all the boys on Netflix, the Baby sitters club on netflix, and Secret Headquarters on Paramount+…
The report states that she has already completed all filming for season 1, which is pretty weird considering in the Original series, she doesn’t really show up until season 2, but we do know there will be changes in the netflix version. Maybe they’re bringing a lot of events forward in the timeline to fit more original stuff in later, but on that we’ll have to wait and see.
With that we have the confirmed casting for Azula, Elizabeth Yu and now Ty Lee, leaving us only to wait on the casting for Mai before we get the full trio. If the theory about moving up the timeline and pulling the events at Omashu forward is right, then I’d expect to see that casting news very soon.
