So to start off we finally have official confirmation about the 3 Avatar Movies which are coming out as soon as next year. We’ve heard plenty about these movies by now, but this is actually the first time Mike and Bryan themselves have confirmed that they are coming. They were also asked if the movies will be adaptations of stuff we’ve seen in the comics and the novels, but thankfully they’ve made it quite clear that these will all be original stories, but tying into information from them. The comics and books are already fantastic, so it’s nice that the movies will be pulling little threads and strings, without steamrolling over them.

Now after that Mike and Bryan confirmed that these movies will all be part of Canon. this is pretty obvious, but We do still have some material from older content which is in a weird gray area, so we’ll see how it all pans out. They will probably end up moving to a Canon tiers system, with stuff created by Mike and Bryan at the top, and other stuff in tiers below. This is what Star Wars had for many years before 2014 and the Canon reset.
The next part of this that I have to mention is that the animation style is now set in stone. Originally there were some reports that the animation was going to be in 3d or some hybrid type of animation like arcane, but this is now put to rest. Mike and bryan confirmed that it will all be in 2d animation like the Original series, but with the modern techniques that we saw in Korra.
