What’s up Geekly Goods fam! 😳 Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender is reportedly still sitting at Number 1 worldwide on Paramount+, and this is over 25 days after its original release.
This just reinforces something I’ve been saying since the film first dropped: it was genuinely a mistake not giving this movie a real theatrical release. The film did get a very limited awards-qualifying run in select theaters in LA and New York, but outside of that, it went straight to streaming after Paramount pivoted from its original plan following an April leak. Given the production value, the animation quality, and the sheer staying power this movie is showing weeks after release, it really feels like audiences would have shown up in a big way for a proper big-screen experience.
