What's up Geekly Goods fam! 🤯 Check out this first look at the official Criterion Collection cover for KPop Demon Hunters, just announced today, and I am loving this artwork.
The cover was illustrated by character designer Ami Thompson, and I love the 2D, anime-inspired style they went with here. It fits the movie's aesthetic perfectly. This release is set for November 3rd on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD, featuring a new 4K digital master approved by directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, complete with a Dolby Atmos soundtrack. It's also packed with special features, including collectible postcards with original illustrations from the film's artists and a printed essay by critic Karen Han.
This marks the 14th Netflix Original to join the Criterion Collection, joining other heavy hitters like Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio and Roma, which honestly speaks volumes about how much impact this movie has had since release. Given that it's already Netflix's most-watched movie of all time, it makes complete sense that Criterion wanted this one in their library.
