Welcome to my channel! This is Andy from I love languages. Let's learn different languages/dialects together.

Western Cham is a variety of the Cham language, part of the Austronesian language family, spoken primarily by the Cham ethnic group in Cambodia and Vietnam. Western Cham, also known as "Cambodian Cham," is distinct from its eastern counterpart in Vietnam due to historical, cultural, and religious differences. The language uses an adapted form of the Arabic script (Ajami script) for writing, although some communities have retained the older Cham script. Western Cham has a rich linguistic heritage, reflecting centuries of interaction with neighboring Southeast Asian and Muslim communities.

The Rade language is a member of the Chamic subgroup of the Austronesian language family, spoken primarily by the Rade (Êđê) people in the Central Highlands of Vietnam, particularly in Đắk Lắk Province. The language is tonal and has features distinct from other Austronesian languages due to its long-standing contact with neighboring Mon-Khmer languages. Traditionally, Rade was an oral language, but it has since been transcribed using the Latin alphabet, with the development of written forms for education and literature. Rade is an important aspect of the cultural identity of the Rade people, carrying with it their oral traditions, folklore, and community practices. Efforts are ongoing to preserve the language amidst pressures from Vietnamese, the national language.
