Rikki Poynter | AT&T man mad at me for being deaf? @rikkipoynter | Uploaded December 2023 | Updated October 2024, 18 hours ago.
Normally, I try to avoid these people and I thought I was far away enough, but this man had a mission and he walked all the way over to me to talk to me about this promotion. Sometimes, I can bluff my way through it and then end it with a, “I’ll have to think about it,” or something, but that didn’t work in my favor this time because of a little misunderstanding mishap. So… who made you mad, bro?

So normally at night, Target has these employees from like AT&T, DirectTV, you know, whatever. He was trying to sell me something and I wasn’t interested, but I was gonna play his game for a minute. And so it looks like I accidentally misunderstood him and I told him I was deaf. Usually, something happens. These two things: either A) they try to rework the conversation. This is usually rare. The second thing that happens, which is usually the case, is they have a deer in headlights look, apologize, freak out, and say, “You have a good day. I’m so sorry.” Fine. Whatever. That means I can move on. This guy, however, slammed his hand on the whiteboard, wiped off everything very angrily with the look on his face, and then went like this. Was like, “Yeah, you’re good,” and walked off. I’m like, okay… The absolute audacity of this man. What the hell happened, like… usually, people are not this aggressive like that. What the hell?
