It took me a long time to figure out what I wanted to do next after Sinister Silence. I went back and forth between some options, not liking anything I was playing, but soon remembered about this level and realized it was perfect for the moment. There are a number of flaws with how this level plays, being a long-development solo project with seemingly no extent of patching iffy transitions and structure pieces despite it ultimately releasing in 2.2, but it's difficult for me to want to scrutinize it much. It just makes for a uniquely cool experience regardless, and though it's not something that can be enjoyable for everybody, I found myself having fun throughout most of it, despite my handful of deaths around the 80s.
