Welcome to GamerU’s guide to Combat in ArcheAge, one of the more frequent and necessary components of the game. A player can engage in combat with a foe simply by attacking it or by using an ability on the target. Defeating foes in combat can be useful for gaining experience and leveling up your character or for completing certain quests with requirements that involve slaying certain enemies.
While simply attacking can eventually take down an opponent, using skills can speed up the process and allow you to take on more difficult enemies. Skills differ depending on the class, but certain skills can be used back to back to create a combo and deal extra damage. This can be done within a certain class’ skills or with skills from different classes from more than one player. Moving around to dodge while using skills can help players achieve victory in some instances as well.
While the rewards for successfully vanquishing a foe can be great, players must be cautious as well; being defeated can result in an experience loss once a certain level is reached and equipment damage, plus the potential loss of trade gear.
