A little tidbit before reading on, the train was being controlled and powered by the Grand Trunk second out. EJ&E 664 with what would be a fantastic sounding Leslie hauls its way through the mural in downtown Lemont. The engineer was in Grand Trunk 4923. It didn't sound like the EJ&E was helping the train at all, although the ditch lights were flashing. So in theory, this train was lead long hood forward.
