With the intention of getting sunrise shots of the oil refinery I drove past Oxbow to see if the L543 was switching or not. Sure enough it was, but when I saw the orange I decided to turn around and check it out. Lately the train has been plagued with CN geeps, but for the past few days it's featured EJ&E 663 and 673 as power.
(1) The turbo duo comes out of the siding for head room while switching cars inside the plant.
(2) HORN DUEL!!! sorta... If you listen closely you can hear the Metra honk for the main entrance for the Seneca Plant while the engineer gives a large amount of P5 for the Oxbow crossing.
(3) Sitting idle waiting for the conductor to finish his job, Amtrak 301 cruises through with a Phase III NPCU #90366 on the point of Amtrak P40 #817.
(4) Listen to those J's in North 8! Done switching over 40 minutes late the oil local makes its way through downtown Lemont where it passes an array of fall colors in front of the KA Steel siding. Note the interesting coal car at the rear of the train.
