I don't know why I am so addicted to this song lately, really, I first found it almost two years ago, forgot about it for a while and now I am listening to it again. So I had an idea of this animash video.
There are no "bad guys" here, the story is told by Azaad's and Kovu's point of view, of course they see Kion and Scamp as someone not fitting for their loved ones, wishing Rani and Angel stayed with them instead.
Azaad / Rani / Kion, this AU is close to canon, only Rani and Azaad were in love before and still Rani is in love with both Kion and Azaad and doesn't know who to choose.
Kovu / Angel / Scamp, in this AU Kovu was taken in captivity for the zoo but he ran away and lives with the stray dogs, he is the closest person to Angel who deeply understands her.
Angel dreams to have a home, like in canon, but she doesn't hate the stray dog life so much, she loves the freedom it gives so she doesn't know if she should truly settle in in Scamp's family, leaving her old life and Kovu behind. Also Kovu can be found by zoo workers and their lionesses pets any time.
In the end it seems like she chose to leave Scamp and be free with Kovu by her side
??? / Simba / Nala, it's up to you who is the third character in this triangle. Like in canon Simba meets Nala, they fall in love, but Simba were already in love and he doesn't want his life full of paradise and escape to end.
