This is angelfish parental care in action. 🐠❤️
These tiny babies are still in the “wriggler” stage, attached to the leaf while they finish developing and absorb their yolk sacs. If one of them loses its grip and drifts away, the parent quickly collects it in its mouth.
It may look like the adult is eating the baby — but it’s doing the opposite.
This instinctive behaviour keeps the brood together, protects vulnerable larvae from danger, and gives them the best possible chance until they become free-swimming.
