Dokhtare Boyer Ahmadi is an old traditional Iranian song from the ancient lands of Persia. It tells the eternal story of love and rejection, a common theme for every culture around the globe, no matter how old.
It is performed by the mezzo-soprano Ariana Vafadari on vocals, Theodore Koumartzis on a LUTHIEROS Lyre of Hermes, and Marios Podaras on the violin.

This SEIKILO Music Production took place at Bensusan Han, a cultural space at the heart of Thessaloniki, Greece.

In parallel with her mezzo-soprano classical opera career, Ariana Vafadari composes, records, and performs on stage in a very different style.
Her concert work in Japan, Brazil, the US or Europe includes the Stabat Mater of Pergolese, Les Nuits d'Eté of Berlioz, the Requiem of Mozart, Schubert, Schumann, Folk Songs of Berio, Britten, Sheherazade of Ravel, Les Chants d'Auvergne of Canteloube or Songs and Dances of Death of Moussorgksy with the soloists of the Philharmonic of Saint Petersbourg, the Pays de Loire Orchestra, or the Auvergne Orchestra.
She sings baroc music as well as contemprary music, and sings in recital with Claire Désert, Emmanuel Strosser (in France, Japan, Germany, Italy, etc.). Her opera roles includes Nancy (Albert Herring of Britten), Nerone (L’Incoronazione di Poppea of Monteverdi), Proserpina (Orfeo of Monteverdi), Dido and Sorceress (Dido and Aeneas of Purcell), Dorabella (Cosi fan tutte of Mozart) at the Toulon Opéra, in Terre et Cendres, of Jérôme Combier for the Lyon Opéra, in La Pellegrina at the Dijon Opéra, Leyla (Leyla et Majnûn of Armand Amar) at Grand Théâtre of Luxembourg, at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall of Moscou and at Salle Pleyel of Paris.
Her albums, Anahita and Gathas, were released in 2016 and 2020. As part of their promotion, she performed on great stages across Europe, Africa, and Asia, including the Festival of the World Sacred Music, the Théâtre de la Ville of Paris, the Cathedral of Strasbourg, the Festival of Namur (Belgium), and the Burning Man Festival (Nevada).

Theodore is the youngest brother of the Koumartzis family. Being part of the family's endeavor since its early stage, he soon came to be an inspiring top-notch lyre player, constantly learning and experimenting with musicians around the world.
He is the founder of the PAUSIS Project, a curator at the SEIKILO Museum of Ancient Music in Greece (Thessaloniki), and an integral part of LUTHIEROS Music Instruments.

Marios Podaras is a seasoned violin player with a passion for electronic music and a newly acquired love for the ancient pandura.
He has composed music for movies, award-winning video games, and contemporary dance performances and participated extensively in studio recordings for music albums covering a wide range of music genres such as rebetiko, rock, blues, jazz, punk, and psychedelic.
He is part of the SEIKILO team, participating in our events as a musician, sound effects specialist, and music instructor.
