Recently an analyst firm stated that Sony expects the PS5 lifecycle to be extended, and that the PS6 may be delayed. And collectively everyone in the enthusiast gaming sphere seems to be perfectly okay with that. The problem though is that behind the scenes, Sony has the PS6 SoC very likely locked in. So should they sit on hardware for potentially a year or more? Does that really make sense when so much is already in motion? There's just a few thoughts I had on the matter that I'm sure some would disagree with. But that's the beauty of the internet, I'm here so you can disagree with me. It's a wonderful thing.

The past few days theres been a growing issue with PS5 and PS4 which is a newly discovered 30 day DRM restriction thats now in place for newly purchased digital games. Any PlayStation 5 digital games that were bought since late March now have a hidden 30 day expiration date unless you can stay connected to PSN. PS4 will show the expiration when checking a games information on the UI. And if you were to remove the CMOS battery, you can validate that the expiration timer is enforced as your new games stop working. Everyone is wondering if Sony will say something about this, and in the meantime were hearing this might be intentional. Lets break this bad boy down, and hopefully I dont expire anytime soon. Im hoping I got another solid 60 years ahead of me.

This past week the Internet noticed that Sony made a change to the way they issue a license on PS5 and PS4 for digital games and it was NOT okay. We went days without a response but Sony has finally commented on the controversy. We also have lots of rumors and updates going on for some big projects like Marvels Venom, Grand Theft Auto VI, and Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3! We might get that reveal soon.. but how soon?! Then weve got more PS5 price increases (Ouch) the launch of Saros (YES) and Fairgame$ (Ehh). Now while you watch this LTPS, Im gonna strap on the PS VR2 and fly to Mexico. And then play Saros. Video games are awesome.

This week Sony has been making some moves with a PS5 UI refresh, removing more shovelware from the PS Store, and planning a new State of Play for next week! Thats at least what the rumors imply. Speaking of which, we have a lot of rumors for the PS6 handheld yet again. Evidence of Power Saver mode really being that compatibility layer? And then new SDK features which could help PS5 (and PS6) file sizes? Interesting.. This week we also got some sales data from Japan and yeah, those new prices are really hurting the console. We also have an Uncharted 5 rumor, a breakthrough in PS3 emulation, and Sony scanning people into games. Thats if youre lucky though. Do you have an authentic love for PlayStation?
