Hordijk Blippoo Box (@biyiblip) and Torso S-4 (@torsoelectronics) 🎉

In the first group coaching call for the Learning Sound and Synthesis spring cohort, we had an amazing discussion about creative decision-making and trusting your ears - whether you’re a musician with decades of experience or someone who’s literally just starting out.

A bunch of my students shared that sometimes they get stuck in “endless tweaking” - where they make something that sounds good, but then wonder if it could be BETTER… resulting in 1000 more edits/revisions/tests.

And of course, iterating and refining your work is important, so how do you go from endless tweaking to precise edits that actually move your work forward?

A few of the great ideas shared:
Set yourself limitations (5-min max, only 3 modules)
Get accountability to share progress before you get stuck in loops (in the LSS forum! Or by telling a friend)
Notice when you love something, and stop there! Yes, it probably “could be better,” but enjoy what you have, and save the rest for your next project
Remember to have fun and to create for YOU; not based on what others “want to hear,” but on what genuinely excites and moves you as an artist

What would you add to this list?

PS: Current LSS students - don’t forget about the accountability buddies zone in the forum, if you’re looking for extra community + support as you move through the class! ❤️

Not a student but curious? There’s a class info/waitlist link in my bio :)
