But for real, this is so fun. And so nerdy, I know.

The Buchla 222e “Multidimensional Kinesthetic Input Port” (best name for a module ever) uses optical sensing to detect the position of these little rings in space. That position data can then be used as CV for any aspect of your patch.

Regardless of whether you have/play a Buchla, I’m a huge fan of thinking about alternate and unusual ways of interacting with/controlling your instrument. Joysticks, pressure sensitive touch pads, game controllers, microphone inputs… there is SO much to explore beyond the knobs! 🎛️
