On August 26, 2023 I arrived at a nice vantage point in the Denver suburb of Arvada, Colorado, to await Amtrak's westbound California Zephyr on its way from Chicago through the Rockies to the San Francisco Bay. And wait I did, as the train departed Denver's Union Station just over an hour behind schedule. Leading the way were 2 GE P42DC Genesis locomotives, making short work of the steep grades as the train ascended the Front Range. Also included is a shot of an RTD Silverliner set making its way to Denver International Airport.
