On August 9, 2025 I made my first visit to the Colorado Railroad Museum as well as a return visit to the Georgetown Loop Railroad. The CRRM was holding their annual Gold Rush Days event and had the 1899-built Rio Grande Southern 20 pulling trains around their demonstration loop. The 20 is a lovely little engine and was getting a good workout on the museum's 3.5% grade. In the afternoon I took a ride on the scenic Georgetown Loop behind International Railways of Central America 111. Both of these railways are within about an hour's drive of Denver and make for a fantastic day out in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains.
