In the Spring of 2025, the Nickel Plate Road 765 returned to the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad for another year of Steam in the Valley. The railroad had been unable to host the event for several years due to the effects of erosion at several places along the line necessitating heavy stabilization work. With the full length of the railway reopened, it seemed fitting that one of CVSR's most popular events should return to two weekends of sold-out excursions. Sadly, heavy rainfall would cause localized flooding on the night of April 25th, causing the cancellation of the first two trains on the 26th. This really messed with my plans for the weekend, as the CVSR is a difficult chase and there wasn't going to be enough time to get all the shots I wanted even with all five scheduled trains. Still, it was great to see the mighty Berkshire once again stomping through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and I think I made the best of the weekend.
