The last function unit in the ALU is for handling bitwise logic. I look at a couple of ways of doing this but settle on using a set of eight 74LS253's.
There are now a total of eight control lines in the ALU, 4 for bitwise logic, 2 for the shift unit and 2 for carry select so in the next ALU video I'll show a method for managing those and presenting a simpler interface back to the pipeline.
