She sees the vase in the window, knowing deep down that is the life (with Frank) she'll never have. References to “a star calling my name” - a star is symbolic of destiny- and the path it has chosen for her. “It's echo is true and the song is not the same” – for this vid, meaning she will love again, and is to be with Jamie in a different life. “All those years drifting in space”- I decided on a darker bg here, to show Claire’s apprehension and uncertainty in the strange world she finds herself in (after having drifted years through space) – verse that follows shows that even when she barely knows him, she feels as if she’s known Jamie forever. Chorus: through the cold, dark, “black” days (especially those of Blackjack Randall) – Claire and Jamie’s love grows stronger, and they’re always there for one another, to help and comfort, no matter what horrors they face.
