Ill speak broadly about concatenative synthesis as a tool, arguing that, while this type of software can be seen as radical, it can also be seen as building off of ideas present in the acoustic composition tradition. Ill go through how the program works technically and highlight certain innovative aspects as well as certain aesthetic choices that we made. Finally, Ill provide several examples which enumerate ways the software can be extended, including writing for instruments (écriture musicale), working with synthesis and real-time processing, and working with film.
