White lions are pretty rare but there are a few. We were lucky enough to see one during our last trip in September 2018 to the Kruger Park. He was an immature male on the S100 east of Satara. He was born in 2014. If you see him I would love to hear about it in the comments below. He should have a mane now. New info: He was first spotted as a young cub in the Singita Concession on the east side of Kruger in September 2014. His name is Casper and he is a member of the Shinshangaan pride which at one time had 22 members.
Update! We saw Casper during our 2022 trip to the Kruger park. He has definitely been through some battles but he looks healthy and in charge.
