We're excited to share our new All Species Imaging Center with you in this episode of #AMinuteWithMark.
Dr. Ehren Mclarty, a board-certified veterinary radiologist and the chief of our Small Animal Imaging Service, provides a glimpse into the incredible capabilities that we have in the new center for diagnostics and treatment of animals large and small.
The center is outfitted with the latest in advanced imaging technology. The four imaging suites include a small animal computed tomography (CT), high field magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for both small and large animals, positron emission tomography (PET)/CT for both small and large animals, and a dedicated large bore equine CT, which is revolutionizing how the hospital diagnoses and treats horses and other large animals.
In other words, if we can’t diagnose and identify the best treatment for your animal, it’s likely no one can.
The center is a key part of our Veterinary Medical Complex, and the entire building and the imaging equipment have been funded almost entirely by donors. Whether funding patient care, the new medical breakthroughs, or student scholarships, philanthropy is a major driver in moving veterinary medicine forward at UC Davis. Thank you!
