In this video, we look at the potential use of stem cells to treat diabetes. First we explore how pancreas transplants and beta islet transplants can be used to treat diabetes. We look at the advantages and disadvantages of these, including the use of immunosuppressant drugs. We then look at stem cells (including what is meant by totipotent stem cells). This includes embryonic stem cells and also umbilical cord stem cells.

In this video, we look at elements, compounds, mixtures and molecules. First we look at the idea of an element, using examples from the periodic table. I then show you the definition of a compound and what is meant by fixed proportions. We then explore the definition of a mixture and the differences between mixtures and compounds. Finally, we look at what is meant by the word molecule and see how molecules can be elements or compounds.
