Jingle bells, jingle bells, everyone's now dead.

Huh, that's surprisingly dark for a song that plays this early in the game. If seasonal depression had a musical equivalent, this tune would definitely be it.

I changed some of the instruments in this and added a few extra modifications during the second loop to keep the listener's interest throughout the entire song, but I didn't add most of the tweaks I originally planned because, rather unsurprisingly, the minimal instrumentation in the original was responsible for a sizable chunk of the emotion within the original version.

The music box in this is actually a free patch from Spitfire Audio's amazing LABS Music Box, if you make music yourself you should totally try out all the LABS instruments, they're great and don't cost a dime! They also have a "Frozen Strings" patch that I wanted to use for this originally, but I only thought of that after I had already mixed and mastered the entire thing and I didn't want to throw off the balance by introducing a totally new instrument this late in production.
