The Deltarune brainrot has been pretty strong ever since chapter 4 released, so it really was just a matter of time until I got to remix one of the many, many masterpieces from the recent release's OST. This probably won't be the last time I cover one of its tracks either - in fact, I wrote down an entire list of candidates before starting work on Hammer of Justice - but this one has been a favorite of mine pretty much since day 1 so it didn't take me that long to decide.
I originally considered taking this track in a very different direction, one with more guitars, to be precise, but I noticed that it actually works really well with just the orchestra, the bass, the drums - and the iconic banjo, of course. I added some more instruments as I kept working on it over the past few weekends and it really did come together beautifully in my opinion. Normally, when I start work on a track, I already have a somewhat solid idea of what it should sound like, but in this case, my creative process was unusually natural (read: there was no plan).
I used this really accurate recreation of the original Hammer of Justice as a reference for this track:

Being able to solo some instruments to figure out what exactly they were playing was a huge timesaver - without it, this project would've taken much longer to complete, so make sure to show the creator some love!

![[April Fools 2018] Early/Unused Battle Theme - Mario&Luigi: Bowsers Inside Story Rip
[APRIL FOOLS 2018]
Recently, a fellow remixer named Purple (https://www.youtube.com/user/Purple1222119), with Envys help (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCK1pMKtDayl1kxvfc8bZQSQ) discovered an all-new music track hidden deep inside the games ROM: MUS_SEQ_B_BATTLE.sseq! Envy later uploaded a video of this sequence played using the final Boss Battle Themes samples. The file is only present in the 1.0 versions of the US and japanese ROMs, it has been removed from all european releases.
The reason why nobody discovered it earlier is the crazy compression on this one: the sequence file was YAZ0 compressed, but also encrypted using a simple circular bitshift. But besides that, there was still a huge clump of binary data.
Today, I finally managed to decrypt it, which revealed that it was actually an extremely early version of the DS SoundFont format, with WAY LESS limitations. I eventually figured out how to convert it to a usable format and tried playing Purples SSEQ file with this new amazing SoundFont. In this video, I present the REAL way this early, unused battle theme should sound!
