What can archaeologists learn from the artifacts they pull out of the ground? Ceramic pottery can tell us what kind of food and drink was being consumed in the past, but can it also tell us more about the individual person who carried that vessel. Why did they choose that type of drink? Where did the vessel come from? Was it purchased along the way, or carried with them from home. In this video we ask what else we might be able to learn from ceramics if we take a closer look at the clay from which it is made.
