My friend, Ken Shuttlesworth, from America requested a version of this song as performed by The Corries. However, I found their version had an interlude that I simply could not get my tongue around, so I settled for singing the original Irish version.
This is yet another song sung to the tune, "The Red Haired Boy", others of which include "The Little Beggarman", "Down in the Coalmine" both of which I have done in the past.
