At the UK Autoharps and Friends monthly Zoom meeting this month, the theme for performance was: FUN; HAPPINESS; JOLLITY, and this was one of the songs I performed.
I found the song in one of the BBC programme "Singing Together" pamphlets where it was described as being an English song written by Katherine F. Rohrbraugh.
I love the jolly doggerel of the chorus.
