Call of Juarez: Gunslinger | 10 Years Later MrHammers 2022-10-19 | After the release of Call of Juarez: The Cartel, Techland had two options, let the series die and put a large focus into their new favorite genre being zombie games, or give the series the swan song it deserves with Gunslinger. Turns out they made the right choice, because this is regarded to often as the best game in the series, and even one of Techland’s best titles overall. So today, let’s talk about the Redemption of Call of Juarez- Gunslinger. The game is known for its fantastic shooting and its narrative structure, with the story of the game being narrated by a man named Silas Greaves, a bounty hunter of the West during the second half of the 19th century. Very similar to the game Bastion, Silas is a great narrator and storyteller, but the lines of fact and fiction are often stumbled over like a drunk man leaving a saloon, referencing real life outlaws of the west like Billy The Kid, Jesse James and Butch Cassidy, but maybe embellishing his encounters with them just little bit. But it’s not just the stories and shooting, it’s the great graphics and art style and killer voice acting as well that really sell this game as an overall smooth and solid experience that is more than enough to wash down the stagnant gutter water that was the Cartel.
