Today were going to take a look at the pivot plates. This connector allows bars to be positioned at various angles. Theyre easy to install, require no machining, and are available in both fractional and metric. Now one thing youre going to want to keep in mind with the pivot plate, is that its a stand alone part, and bolt assemblies will be required to install it. More information on 80/20s bolt assemblies can be found in the 80/20 product catalog. Now when it comes to installing the pivot plate, the first thing youre going to want to do is preload your hardware. Preloading not only makes it easier to install your plates, but also saves time during assembly. Now to finish up, Im going to put one last bolt and one last T-nut into this plate. Now its important when youre using your T-nuts to have pilot projections facing downwards, or away from the plate. Get that preloaded on there, well take our bar, slide the plate on. Now well hold that into place, and grab our other bar, and line up the center holes. Once we have those lined up, well take our center bolts, one by one, and feed them through. Well get that one on there with a hex nut, well hand-tighten it down, and well do the same thing on the back. Well get a bolt, feed it through, get a hex nut on it and hand-tighten it down as well. Now once youve got those on there, well go back to that plate we put on, and tighten it down the rest of the way. Once weve got that secure, the last thing weve got to do is find our desired angle we want. That looks just about right, well take our other wrench, and tighten down those center bolts. Today we’re going to take a look at floor mounts. These floor brackets are great for securing projects to the floor. They’re easy to install, available in both fractional and metric, and require no machining. However, a bolt assembly will be needed. More information on 80/20’s recommended bolt assemblies, can be found in the 80/20 product catalog. Now before we get started. I wanted to point out that our floor brackets have a variety of styles to them. We have our standard style, and then we have a version of that one that allows you to adjust the height a little bit more. We have a baseplate style, and one without a baseplate. Now the great thing about all these is, is that they install all the same way. Now for today we’re going to use the standard one. We’re just going to finish it up with one last bolt and one last Tnut. Now you want to make sure with the Tnut, you have the pilot projection on it facing away from the bracket. So we’ll just preload that onto the bolt there. Once we have that on there, we’ll take our extrusion. We’ll slide the bracket right onto it, we’ll get it into position, and we’ll tighten down with our wrench. Now once you have that tightened, your bracket is nice and secure. Now one last thing we want to show you, is a version where you can adjust the height a little bit more. Now the only difference is, the profile is going to rest on this Tnut on the back side. Now if you want to adjust the height, you simply take this bolt on the front side. Take your wrench, and raise or lower to the desired height that you need. Today were going to take a look at three-way corner brackets and connectors. These brackets are perfect for joining three bars together with one connection. Theyre easy to install, and available in fractional metric, and compatible across a wide rang of profile series. Now as you can see, 80/20 offers a few different three-way brackets and connectors to fit any type of bar you may have; rounded angled, and squared bars. Now one thing you want to keep in mind with these fasteners is they are a stand-alone part and bolt assemblies will be required to install them. Also due to the nature of these fasteners, your bars are going to need machined. Each of your three bars will need one end tap into them. Now when it comes to installing these fasteners, the first thing youre going to want to do is feed your bolts through the brackets and into the bars. Now in this example we have two of the bars already completed. To finish it up, well take the connector and place it over the last bar. Well take our bolt and feed it into the end tap, well take our wrench and tighten it the rest of the way down. Once you have the locked in, you have one bracket connecting three bars. Now one last option youll want to consider is an end cap. Simply fits right over the bracket, pops right over, and gives it a smooth clean finish. Today we’re going to take a look at ball latches. These latches are great for latching plastic panels, or profiles, into place. They are easy to install, and available in both fractional and metric. Now the ball latch comes in three different types. We have our standard nylon single ball latch, which is perfect for plastic panels. It’s going to require a panel tap, and a bolt assembly. Next we have our standard double ball latch. This is great for attaching two profiles together. It requires no machining, but will need a bolt assembly as well. And lastly, we have our tension ball latch. This heavy duty ball latch is great for swinging and sliding doors. It requires no machining, and all required hardware comes with it. Now all three of these ball latches install in a similar way, so today we are going to use the nylon single ball latch. As you can see, we’ve got the ball portion threaded into the panel itself. The other half, the latch, we are going to preload the T-nuts and the bolts into it, and slide it into the open T-slot. Next we’ll close the door and line it up with the ball. And then we’ll just tighten it into place. Once you have that tightened, you have a nice strong, secure connection thanks to your ball latch.
