Welcome to our new community slow stitching project for 2026 that will be running as a beginner friendly stitch along. In this video I will show you two different ways you can create a little scene on your hexi featuring a washing line. One method involves stitch doodling and the other some simple appliqué using fabric scraps.
Everyone is welcome to participate and this project is beginner friendly for those new to slow stitch. We’ll be stitching a hexagon work mat for your studio or craft room desk featuring vintage embroideries and fabrics. I’ll be sharing vintage embroidery transfer designs from my collection and lots of inspiration to include in your own work mat. I’ll also be sharing other ideas using hexies.
You can join at any stage during the year and work at your own pace. This beginner friendly project can be tailored and adapted to the supplies and time you have on hand, and what you want to create with the hexagons. There is no cost to participate.

I’ve included information on the Hexi Love Swap over in the Slow Stitching Friends Facebook group together with some posts where you can comment to connect up with people to swap with and then private message using Messenger to discuss further.
