Welcome to our new slow stitch project for 2026 that will be running as a stitch along. Everyone is welcome to participate and this project is beginner friendly those new to slow stitch. We’ll be stitching a hexagon work mat for your studio or craft room desk featuring vintage embroideries and fabrics. I’ll be sharing vintage embroidery transfer designs from my collection and lots of inspiration to include in your own work mat.
You can join at any stage during the year and work at your own pace. This beginner friendly project can be tailored and adapted to the supplies and time you have on hand, and what you want to create with the hexagons. There is no cost to participate.
In this video I will provide a tutorial and show you how you can weave ribbons on fabric ti make a beautiful hexagon. The method can be applied to fabric scraps too. My method uses a foundation fabric to make the process much easier.
