Okay so maybe y'all noticed the lack of videos recently, this is mostly because I'm on vacation(s), had some physical and mental health problems and kind of a lack of motivation recently.
This song's name actually drives me insane LMAO but the theme of insane characters like - for example - villains was great to make my very first edit of my new favorite character played by Hugo Weaving: Agent Smith from Matrix! It was a bit difficult due to my lack of editing experience with the movies but still fun!
At the beginning with "Yes or no options don't weigh out, and so (...)" I didn't actually pay attention to the lyrics 'cause I wanted to introduce the character with a few shots of him arriving, walking mysteriously and then just giving the audience an insane look to remind y'all that I am in fact sticking to the theme ( though mostly because I thought they were singing something entirely different I couldn't make out so yeah lol). "I don't ever see the cons and the pros" doesn't have much of a meaning either, it's all just to show how Smith (who is a computer program, mind you!) is secretly using his prisoner Morpheus to his own advantage which weirds out his other agent-program-buddies and they call him out on it. Smith tries to look normal again and ignores their questions but he's still weird and insane, so the lyrics do kinda make sense as he's both nihilistic and self-centered but also ignores his own safety and cover-up. "You bear a striking resemblance" now references Agent Smith reappearing (in a test program) as Neo's antagonist, whom he thought was just some kind of police guy questioning him once in the "real world". This is further referenced in "(Some kind of semblance of somethin' I been rememberin')
You appear familiar, dear" and supposed to be comedically drawn out by Smith's clones appearing and Neo proceeding to kick their butts lmao. "(You look just like my bathroom mirror)" has mostly Smith's and Neo's final fight scene so it's referencing the "mirror" of them both becoming equally powerful (and me wanting to sqeeze in something from the epic end fight) but I mostly thought of the previous short scene of Smith fighting Morpheus in - you guessed it - a bathroom (of an abandoned old building).
I used some simple blending transitions - aside from the sliding one at the very beginning to make it all look cooler and match the music more and turned the brightness veeery slightly up for nicer looks. And after checking through the final part about a million times I actually like it a lot though it's still a bit messy XD
