After a loooong time I've been making MEP parts for Hashura Editz again! Yay!: youtube.com/watch?v=cQDE50Oq_cw
I love doing vent stuff with Frodo 'cause he's basically me as a small guy (and because y'all know how much I love him :3 ). Most of the time I don't see it as this super therapeutic vent thing and rather an "art project"/editing test but whatever lol. (I still used it to somewhat portray my struggles, obviously).
The beginning of "In my life, in my mind (...)" I wanted to first show the contrast of Frodo's more or less enthusiastic beginning of his journey, to when the hardships of it really crash down on him during the first movie where he decides to leave his friends out of the danger to go destroy the ring alone, along with the sadness in his eyes. "(...) where I make up stories all the time" is him at the very end, writing down his adventures and experiences, also somewhat to contrast his former carefree and dreamy attitude in the lyrics and his hurt self at the end of his journey. "And I pretend that I am not someone (...)" not only has a nice lip synch but also Frodo's desperate attempts to safe Gollum from Faramir, where he doesn't try to hide his empathetic self. "(...) left to face the world alone" has a collection of his challenges showing that while he DOES have a bunch of friends accompanying him on this long journey, part of him IS ultimately "left alone" with his burden of carrying the ring. And "Maybe I'm... not the same" how this slowly changes him, until he realizes that is no longer able to enjoy life the way he used to. For the ending f "I've found a stranger calling out my name" I didn't rlly have many suitable scenes in terms of context, so I just took the scene where he's literally calling someone's name - Gandalf's - which DOES somehow still fit in the end due to Gandalf coming back from the dead after this event and struggling to remember his friends at first. Oh well. And then just an emotional shot of Frodo saving Sam which I just used for the equal symbolism of saving someone like in the lyrics and because it looks nice and dramatic :D.
As for transitions I used simple blending ones to enhance the dramatic and melancholic feeling, while making it all black and white (or at least heavily desaturated since only one flashback scene is without ANY color to make it stand out as a flashback) on the host's requested color scheme. Aaaand then I added some old TV scratch effects because they looked fancy XD.
I quite like how it turned out!

Aaaaa- I'm so tired all the time but I just can't stop with the MEP parts! They've just got their hold on me! So maybe the original video I wanted to make has to wait until New Year's lol
