Haha I love joining themed MEPs and this one had the possession theme again, so here we go! It rlly wasn't challenging, as Frodo's story fits very nicely, although I was just constantly tempted to put way too many scenes bc I always wanna cramp the entire character's story into a 10-second-edit LMAO
For the first few seconds at "Then it becomes, it becomes, it becomes, it becomes a problem" I simply put how Frodo's story begins, with Bilbo using the magical ring in front of him, Gandalf sending him away to destroy it while he's hunted by Nazgul where he first feels the power of the ring seducing him. I just rlly loved Elijah Wood opening his big eyes at "problem" LOL. "Bad thoughts give me bad dreams" was suitable for Frodo accidentally putting the ring on - and Sauron's eye seeing him because it's almost like he's in a literal nightmare world when he puts on the ring. For "And my bad dreams make me get up and walk" we have him connecting to the ring more and more, not only "feeling" its "pain" and malignacy, but also getting a false sense of comfort and obsession when he's holding the ring. It's very tight, but you even have him start possessed walking right at "walk". "Bad thoughts give me bad dreams and my bad dreams (...)" has Frodo actually suffer from being possessed by the ring, when he walks over to a Nazgul (which I didn't show bc time lol) and has the overwhelming urge to put on the ring, getting saved by Sam (again, not shown bc of time) whom he viciously attacks bc he's basically become a magical drug addict at this point. I think the whole scenario of Frodo being a possessed and addicted to ring to the point of him endangering his best friend's life, as well as his own, fits the "bad thoughts" and "my bad dreams" very nicely. His full-on final scene on Mordor when he gives into the ring instead of throwing it into lava is a great last clip with "make me sleepwalk". It was overall fun to use his scenes.
Transition-wise I used some simple blending, most with a bouncy effect to make it fit the music more and a red-filter which makes all the yellow, like Sauron's eye and his golden ring, stand out against black and white. Sadly, you can't see Elijah Wood's super-blue eyes anymore but it was requested for the MEP and I like playing around with themes and filters! (I almost forgot the filter and added it last minute LMFAO)
