In this video I took a 1 1/8” mahogany plank, cut almost an 11” circle and turned a platter. Due to its thickness I had to mount it between centers so I had a small issue with the tail stock being loose after stalling the work piece. I was able to tighten it up and keep turning. The finished piece turned out very nice and was given to a friend who provided some cool turning stock.
