I know I'm a bit of a pscyho that once I played through Chapter 5 of Deltarune and had many of it's songs stuck in my head, that after going back and listening to the OST after, I chose to do this first.

Like many I was intrigued at 3rd Sanctuary's wacky time signatures but my ears really perked up when I heard this one. I thought this is truly a weird one, yet it sounds so familiar timewise. That's when I realized that it shares a time signature with possibly the most insane time signature in video games which is Ocarina of Time's Ganondorf Battle, the only thing is they're subdivided far differently. The verse in this song is alterating between 11/8 and 12/8 which equates to 23/8, similiar enough at this speed to Ganondorf's 23/16. Interestingly the emphasis in this one really is on the alternating time signatures as each bar feels to reset strongly after a 4/4 feel for a bit then the added 8th notes... whatever I'm just making stuff up at this point, none of that probably matters to you.

The real work on this for me was figuring out how to make the song make sense with real instruments since at this time signature, the instruments had to be LOCKED and clean so there really wasn't any just feeling it out, otherwise it would have gotten too washy. I left the melody and countermelodies mostly untouched, bass as well, but went off with the rhythm guitar in a way that I felt could feel heavy but also help the listener follow the song as best as possible.
