I did an entire arrangement album of the music to the first Octopath game because it was the first soundtrack in years to actually bring me to tears. It was bittersweet hearing the announcement of the second game because while I loved the first one, I lived and breathed Octopath for months between playing the game to it's absolute capacity, to playing two CDs worth of it's music. I felt like there was no more energy I had left to give to the game...

Until I heard Yasunori Nishiki's music again, and it's just an absolute wonder. I felt like I had to hold myself back, but when I got an email saying Square Enix wanted to sponsor a cover of the game's theme, I don't think there was anyway I could say no. It's an absolute honor to get to do this and I can't wait to hear all of the other covers of this song and the game's soundtrack for many months to come.
