On April 19, 2023, an armed robbery in Miami-Dade triggered a multi-county, high-speed police chase that hit 130 MPH on Florida’s Turnpike. The suspects, fleeing in a white Lexus LC500, thought they could outrun law enforcement. But when the Lexus couldn’t take them any further, they took things to another level—carjacking a Tesla at gunpoint with an AR-15 in broad daylight.
The chase finally came to an end when the suspect crashed the Tesla while trying to escape. A last-ditch effort to flee on foot led to a barricade situation, but K9 Axel made sure they didn’t get away.

Matthew Paul Geimer Jr. (Driver): Armed carjacking (Felony, life sentence possible), grand theft auto, fleeing and eluding, burglary, resisting arrest.
